Glocal Scene is a documentary about local music scenes.
A small team travelled to USA, UK, Canada, France, Mexico, Australia, and South Africa to meet and interview musicians in their home town. Glocal Scene is a record of the excellent bands they met, and the state of independent music between 2005 to 2009.
After the documentary, the makers (Phil, Nick, Rob and Steve, also known as Chestnut Productions Ltd) set up a music label and booking agency, connecting local music scenes on a global scale.

Upon it’s release in 2009, the documentary had limited screenings worldwide and became part of academic teaching in selected universities in the US (in the fields of Ethnomusicology and Music Management). An example of of the latter is the documentary featuring in the ‘Media/Society: Industry, Images and Audiences’ book by Croteau and Hoynes.
